The Asian market for low density polyethylene was quiet in the week ending November 27 as buyers remained on the sidelines due to geopolitical uncertainty. On Nov. 27, Asian recycled low-density polyethylene natural film was down $5/mt from the previous week to $730/mt FOM Southeast Asia. The week's trading was slow due to the end-of-year season. The buyers are also taking a wait-and see attitude in case there is any policy change after the US election. Sources said that Southeast Asian scrap recyclers who rely on imported feedstock are having difficulty renewing their permits, especially in Vietnam and Thailand.
