The market for recycled low-density plastic remained steady in the week ending June 26, as fundamentals of supply and demand remained unchanged. The price of Asian recycled low density polyethylene natural film pellets was stable for the week on June 25, at $800/mt FOBSoutheast Asia. This is because the Basel Convention has restricted the transboundary movement of many typesof waste and scrap materials. The trader stated that scraps are still exported to Asia at prices that match the export prices of other countries or scraps that Western recyclers cannot handle because of labor costs for sorting, small volumes, and irregularities.
