Trading activity was thin amid slowing demand and high freight costs in the recycled low density polyethylene market during the week to July 31. Asian recycled low density polyethylene natural film pellets down $10/mt on the week at $780/mt FOB Southeast Asia July 31. Market sentiments have been bearish due to a combination of factors, including uncertain shipping conditions, global geopolitical tensions and the lull summer season in countries such as India and China. Buyers have been on the sidelines and many are not in a rush to secure cargoes, said sources.
