The Asian recycled low density plastic market trended up in the week ending January 15 due to an increase in buying appetite on the India market. Asian recycled LDPE film pellets increased $10/mt in the past week to $740/mt F.O.B. Southeast Asia, on January 15. Sources claim that the closure of several polyethylene plants in India has caused a rise in demand for both recycled and prime material, as a result of lowered market supplies. Reliance industries Ltd. in India is planning to close its polyethylene factory in Jamnagar in Gujarat for 14 days of routine work in the second half January.
