Trading was thin in the Asian low density polyethylene market in the week ended Nov. 27, as buyers continued to stay on the sidelines amid uncertain geopolitics. Asian recycled low density polyethylene natural film pellets down $5/mt on the week at $730/mt FOB Southeast Asia on Nov. 27. Trading was sluggish during the week due to the lull at the year-end season. Buyers are also adopting a wait-and-see stance in the event of any further policy developments after the US elections. Meanwhile, Southeast Asian scrap plastic recyclers relying on imported feedstock face challenges in obtaining permit renewals particularly in Vietnam and Thailand, sources said.
