Asia recycled LDPE : Stable in thin trade- Waste collection labour intensive- Seemingly
low feedstock supplyThe Asian recycled low-density polyethylene
market was stable during the week ending March 29, despite thin trading. Trader said that the
greatest challenge in 2023 will be to find sufficient post-consumer bales to
meet both current and future demand from new projects. Sources said that recycling production has been hampered by
a lack of feedstock. Sources claimed that
domestic waste produced too few good plastics. Therefore, more education is
needed to help the public collect and sort their waste so that they can be
recycled better. Many recyclers claimed
they are running at a lower capacity than they have been able to due to low
feedstock yield. Many countries banned
import of feedstock bales because they are considered to be plastic waste....
