density polyethylene declined during the week ending June 7 due to weak demand. Sources said that the
prices of recycled LDPE fell along with those of the prime grade. The macroeconomy was weak and the demand for recycled LDPE
film was low, according to traders. The
demand for recycled film could be replaced by virgin film in Asia, as its use
is not mandatory. Also, recycled film (non-bottle grades), is only competitive
if virgin film prices are high. Sources
