The recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE) market was quiet in the week ending August 21, with buyers staying away due to a lack of interest and uncertainty about shipping. The price of recycled HDPE natural films fell $10/mt from the previous week to $700/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. Recycled HDPE black blowmoldings pellets also dropped $10/mt for the same period at $560/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. "[The market] is slow." A trader stated that prices have fallen further this week. Demand has slowed due to high ocean freight costs and shipping delays. There are few orders for recycled black pellets, according to sources. HDPE prices on virgin markets fell $20/mt to $950/mt CFR Southeast Asia August 21 due to a lack of demand. .
