The recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE) market was stable during the week ending July 3. Prices were supported by tightening supplies despite weaker demand. The recycled high density polyethylene film was stable at $740/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. On July 3, the recycled HDPE black blastmolding pellets remained unchanged at $600/mt, FOB Southeast Asia. A trader said that the demand for RPE was weak, and the scrap supply on the market is limited. This is causing most end users and recycling companies to struggle. Feedstock scrap is becoming more expensive, which has a negative impact on the margins of producers. Margin was hovering around $30/mt - below the breakeven spread which is usually $60-$80/mt.
