Prices of high density polyethylene in Asia were mixed during the week ending February 26 despite fundamentals such as demand and supply remaining largely unchanged. HDPE black blowmolding Pellets were stable at $575/mt, and recycled high density polyethylene transparent film pellets were up $10/mt from last week to $765/mt. A trader reported that demand in Indonesia remained stable on February 26. He expects a low level of trading in the coming weeks because of Ramadan. On the virgin markets HDPE film CFR Far East Asia was steady at $885/mt in February 26. Sources said that the competitive virgin HDPE price has dampened demand for recycled HDPE.
