In a week of thin trading, the Asia recycled high-density polyethylene market remained steady. The recycled high density polyethylene film was stable at $740/mt F.O.B. Southeast Asia for the week, while the recycled HDPE blow molding pellets were also unchanged at $600/mt F.O.B. Southeast Asia on Friday. Sources say that HDPE demand has been softer than expected this week, but it hasn't yet translated into a price change. According to a producer in Indonesia, the majority of demand for R-HDPE films came from domestic markets. Export demand was also low. The producer said that the domestic demand was stable, but exports of recycled PE were low. This is probably due to high shipping rates.
