In the week ending August 14, trading was muted on the recycled high density Polyethylene market due to a slowing of demand and uncertainty in shipping conditions. Asian recycled low-density polyethylene natural film Pellets were stable for the week at $790/mt F.O.B. Southeast Asia, on August 14. According to sources, demand on major markets like China and India remained sluggish with very little activity during the week. China is experiencing significant economic weakness, both at home and abroad. A trader said that this factor will not see a quick recovery, but rather a long-term downturn without a visible light at end of tunnel.
