India R-PET: Prices remain rangebound amid stable fundamentals / Minimum content expected for regional support / Export price levels firmer for r-PET bottle grade flakes: source - Oct 24, 2024

Prices for recycled polyethylene Terephthalate in India continued to rise week-on-week on October 23. The r-PET clear flakes were priced at $955/mt, and the flake price was $1,255/mt, both up by $10/mt or $4/mt respectively. The domestic bottle grade flake price has firmed up further. It is now around Rupees $75/kg. Demand from the EU/US remains strong. Recycling companies chose to export more because of the higher parity price. A recycler was surprised to see higher flake prices in the middle of the week leading up to October 23 despite the volatility of crude oil, since virgin PET prices had been expected to be lower.
