Asian R-PET: Prices rebound due to stronger export demand / US tariffs on Mexico redirect flakes demand to Southeast Asia / Flakes are up $15/mt and pellets are up $10/m

Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (RPET) prices in Asia increased in the week ending February 19, as trading activity increased following an increase in export demand. FOB Southeast Asia R -PET clear flakes, premium -grade flakes, and food -grade flakes were all up $15 in price week-over-week at $865/mt & $925/mt respectively on Feb. 19. Food -grade Pellets also increased $10/mt to $1,270/mt. The EU and Asia remain subdued in their buying interest, but the US has been active this week with deals and inquiries for R-PET pellets and flakes, as well as a sale of colored flakes to the Middle East.
