The price of Asian recycled polyethylene Terephthalate was stable to weak in the week ending Jan. 28, due to volatility in ASEAN currencies as well as a general slowdown on Asian markets because of festivities. FOB Southeast Asia RPET clear and premium-grade flake prices were flat day-over-day but down $5/mt from week-to-week at $850/mt & $910/mt respectively on Jan. 28. Food-grade pellets remained unchanged both day-over-day and week-over-week at $1,265/mt. Some recyclers adjusted their offers to reflect the volatile currencies of the Indonesian rupiah, Thai baht and US dollar. Others maintained price levels.
