Asian Paraxylene Prices were higher on April 16 due to supply concerns in Asia and a healthier demand for gasoline blends. Asian paraxylene prices were up $15.17/mt for the day, at $1.070/mt CFR unv1/China on April 16. Sources said that PX prices could continue to increase due to production problems in China and the expected impact of gasoline blend demand. Traders said that some production issues in China could lower output by a few weeks. Hengli Petrochemical, a Chinese company, will also shut down a line in its Dalian plant that produces 5 million mt/year of paraxylene on April 16, to perform maintenance for 10 days. Market participants outside of China are also looking at South Korean production, with some uncertainty as to whether producers will reduce their PX output...
