On May 28, Asian isomer grade mixed xylene prices rose by $2/mt from $957.50/mt at FOB Korea to $971.50/mt for CFR Unv1 to $956.50/mt for CFR China, with higher upstream prices. In Asian trade at 830 GMT, July ICE Brent crude futures rose by $1.14/b, to $83.39/b. Paraxylene, however, appeared to lose steam, and fell 34 cents/mt, to $1,043.33/mt for CFR Unv1/China on May 28. Offers were not heard, but bids for MX for the second-half of June FOB Korea loading cargoes emerged. TDP rates in Asia are likely to increase due to the fast improving disproportionation margins of toluene due to firmer benzene. This will also boost isomer MX supply.
