On May 23, Asian mixed isomer xylene prices fell by $11.50/mt, from $937.50/mt to $937.50/mt at FOB Korea on May 21, $952.50/mt for CFR Unv1 (and $938.50/mt at CFR China) on May 22, due to lower crude oil costs. In Asian trade on May 23, July ICE Brent crude futures dropped $0.98/b, to $81.96/b. Paraxylene prices fell $1.67/mt and reached $1,026/mt for CFR Unv1/China. The spread between MX and PX increased $9.83/mt from $88.50/mt. This is the largest since April 16 when the spread was $91/mt. This spread is critical for PX producers.
