Asian PVC prices fall by $5-$20/mt due to tepid Indian demand / BIS Certification Implementation to be Delayed / CFR India falls $20/mt

Sources said that Asian polyvinyl chloride prices dropped $5-$20/mt in one week due to the bearishness of the market. Market participants are awaiting September initial offers, which will be released next week. The PVC CFR China mark was unchanged on the week, at $795/mt as of the Asian close on August 14. No deals have been done on CFR China, as the Chinese property market continues to deteriorate, which is reducing demand for PVC imports. A South Korea-based source said that "everyone is waiting for [September initial] offers". CFR Southeast Asia's marker fell by $5/mt, to $785/mt on August 14, as participants noted that Southeast Asia is experiencing a seasonally low demand.
