Asian PVC: Prices rise $10/mt due to China's positive sentiment / Initial Oct offers settled with rollover / Local China price increases Yuan 200 to 550/mt - Oct 04, 2024

The price of Asian polyvinyl chloride increased by $10/mt from last week to $760/mt CFR China on Oct. 2. This was due to a more positive sentiment that developed earlier in the week following China's stimulus announcement. The market sentiment in China firmed up earlier this week, before the October Golden Week holiday. This was due to the latest stimulus package that pushed China's futures and stock markets higher. According to exchange data, January PVC futures at the Dalian Commodity Exchange increased Yuan 267/mt from day to day to Yuan 5,799/mt on Sep. 30. China's Golden Week holiday begun Oct. 1.
