Asian PVC: stable to $10/mt less than last week / Local China increases Yuan 200/mt in a week / March offers could be stable or firmer

The price of Asian polyvinyl was lowered by $10/mt to $730/mt on Jan. 28, a decrease from the previous assessment made Jan. 22, due to a weaker outlook for arrivals in February. CFR Southeast Asia PVC fell $10/mt to $730/mt in the same time period. According to market sources, there were some positive signs seen this week, as the local China market firmed up ahead of the Lunar New Year holidays. The price of ethylene-based PVC was Yuan 5,400/mt on Jan. 28 and carbide-based PVC was Yuan 5,200/mt, both Yuan 200/mt more than the previous week.
