Prices of Asian polyvinyl chloride fell by $50-$55/mt during the week ending Aug. 21, due to ample supplies coming from China. Market participants also awaited the initial offers for cargoes in September. Sources said that the announcement of September's initial offers had been delayed because Taiwanese companies were waiting for the Indian government to announce the date when BIS certifications would be officially implemented. Sources in Taiwan said that the announcement about India's BIS implementation will be released on August 24. The majority of market participants expect the official implementation to be pushed back. Sources said that China continues to export PVC cargoes into India. They also added that the Chinese market has ample supply for export.
