Asian PVC: Chinese prices dip on cautious sentiment / Market is awaiting the price direction of April import offers / Chinese offers put downward pressure on SE Asia Prices

Asian PVC prices were soft to stable in the week ending March 12. Buyers in China are becoming more cautious due to the uncertain macroeconomic environment, and the Southeast Asia market is still under pressure from China origin cargo. FOB China PVC Prices were unchanged for the day, but lower by $7/mt on the whole week. The ethylene-based PVC price was $633/mt and the carbide-based PVC price was $3/mt less. Ex-China deals are available in SE Asia and this is affecting the spot price. CFR SE Asia PVC fell $20/mt on a weekly basis to $690/mt on March 12. The ethylene-based PVC fell Yuan 75/mt on a weekly basis to Yuan 5,175/mt on March 12 while carbide-based PVC fell Yuan 50/mt on YUAN 4,900/mt in the same time period. A...
