Asian PVC: Stable at $10/mt Lower than last week / Local China increases Yuan 200/mt in a week / March offers could be stable or firmer

As a result of a weaker outlook for arrivals in February, the price of Asian polyvinyl was lowered from $10.00/mt to $10/mt on Jan. 28, compared with Jan. 22, CFR China PVC was stable at $725/mt in the same time period. CFR Southeast Asia fell $10/mt to $730/mt. Sources on the market said that the local China market firmed up ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. Prices for ethylene-based PVC and carbide-based PVC were both Yuan 2,200/mt higher than the previous week. Some trading sources claim that China's PVC is supported by the tight supply during plant turnaround season. Several sources stated that the Asian PVC market had reached its bottom.
