Asia PVC: Stable despite thin trade / Dalian PVC futures drop Yuan 39/mt DOD / LG Chem will shut down Daesan PVC Plant in April to turn around

The Asian PVC price was stable during the week ending February 5, because the main China market just returned from its holidays, and the market participants took a wait-and see attitude. Traders said that deals for February arrivals were already discussed and concluded. Discussions about March arrivals could begin next week. China's PVC Futures dropped slightly. The most actively traded May Futures were down Yuan 39/mt from day to day, at Yuan 5,185/mt as of Dalian Commodity Exchange on February 5. The price of ethylene-based PVC was $660/mt F.O.B. China on February 5, unchanged from the previous day. LG Chem, of South Korea, plans to close its Daesan PVC plant that produces 240,000 mt/year in April.
