Due to lower offers, Asian PVC prices remained stable or slightly decreased in the week ending February 19. China's PVC Futures dropped slightly. The most actively traded May Futures were down Yuan 6/mt from day to day, at Yuan 5,271/mt. Dalian Commodity Exchange Data showed. ethylene -based PVC at $655/mt FOB China, stable day over day. A company source revealed that Taiwan's Formosa Plastics Corporation plans to shut down its 550,000-mt/year Polyvinyl Chloride plant in Renwu in Kaoshiung in Taiwan in mid-March for two-weeks of planned maintenance. A company source said that the producer aims to restart the plant before the end of the month. LG Chem, of South Korea, plans to close its Daesan PVC plant that produces 240,000-mt/year in April.
