May 19 amid volatile upstream paraxylene prices and weak downstream polyester
demand. A rebound in feedstock PX prices led several market participants
to the sidelines, with some traders citing fewer-thanusual PTA trades in the
week. Offers in the Chinese domestic market rose late in the week because
of some expected turnarounds in Northeast Asia that could last until
June. In the downstream polyester market, several market participants said
