General-purpose polystyrene CFR China at $1,195/mt on Feb. 5, up $5/mt from Jan. 28, amid thin spot discussions as market participants returned from the Lunar New Year holidays. The CFR China-CFR Southeast Asia spread was stable at minus $10/mt. The expanded PS and PS prices in East China increased, with GPPS at Yuan 9,300-9,450/mt, high-impact PS at Yuan 10,000- 10,300/mt and EPS GP at Yuan 9,750-10,100/mt. Stronger styrene values supported costs, leading to Yuan 100-200/mt price hikes. The EP market strengthened by Yuan 50-100/mt, with Jiangsu ex-factory prices at Yuan 9,750-10,000/mt, though transactions were limited and traders hesitated to sell low.
