Asian PS : Prices drop on hearing lower offers / A persistent weak demand / China PS operating rates increase slightly, but EPS falls on week

CFR China prices for general-purpose and high-impact polystyrene were $5/mt less than the previous week, at $1,215/mt apiece and $1,305/mt apiece, respectively, as of Oct. 30. This week, producers lowered their offer levels in response to lower upstream feedstock costs. CFR Southeast Asia's general-purpose polystyrene marker and CFR SE Asia's high-impact polystyrene marker were both assessed at $15/mt less than the previous week, at $1,230/mt each. This was due to a smaller spread between CFR China and CFR SE Asia. The CFR China upstream styrene Monomer Marker was $1,054/mt. This is down $3/mt from the previous week, after increasing $25.50/mt.
