Asian PS: Prices fall amid weaker demand- Low
domestic China prices are causing the CFR China prices to drop- Ramadan
in Southeast AsiaPoor demand continues to pressure Asian
polystyrene price. The
domestic China prices of general purpose and high impact polystyrene continued to
be weak. This in turn pushed down CFR China prices. A trader in China stated that downstream converters
typically sell their finished products, such as utensils, to Europe and the US.
However, due to the economic slump, there has been a decrease in demand for
exports. The trader said that length is
pushing down upstream polystyrene costs and is causing them to drop their
prices. Producers surveyed also said that
there was little demand for the product in the southeast Asia region as Ramadan
