SM drops $22.5-27.10/mt in a weekThe Asian polystyrene markets continued to
fall in the week leading up to May 24. HIPS CFR China, and SE Asia saw the
biggest drop of $35/mt. The
GPPS CFR China mark dropped $10/mt to $1,100/mt. CFR SE Asia followed CFR
China. The domestic price levels dropped
by Yuan 200 to 250/mt compared to the previous week. The high inventory levels continue the pressure on producers
to find sales opportunities. A producer
stated that the market is slow. There is still demand, but customers are only
buying what they need in the short-term. "They
