Asian PS: Prices remain stable despite weak fundamentals / Market activity in SE Asia is slower / China PS and EPS Run Rates Fall on Week - Dec 12, 2024

The CFR China polystyrene for general purpose was unchanged week over week on December 11, while the CFR China high-impact polystyrene remained stable at $1.285/mt. CFR Southeast Asia general purpose polystyrene (also known as high-impact polystyrene) and CFR China markers were also rated stable, with prices of $1,215/mt a week and $1,300/mt a week, following the CFR China markers. In the week ending December 11, producers generally kept their offer levels at a stable or lower level, despite relatively unchanged market fundamentals. "Buying interest is at normal levels, and customers do not want to stockpile inventory." A producer stated that customers are mostly adopting the "just-in-time" purchasing strategy.
