The Asian propylene price remained unchanged for the week ending Jan. 31 due to low discussions because of Lunar New Year holidays. The majority of market participants have been away on holiday for the Lunar New Year, and local holidays in many Asian countries span several days this week. This has resulted in a dormant environment. China's manufacturing PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) fell to 49.1% from 50.1% last month, signaling a contraction of the manufacturing sector. The decline coincides with the buildup to China's Lunar New Year, a week-long holiday.
