Asian propylene was firmer and more stable during the week ending Dec. 20. FOB Korea increased $10/mt from the previous week to $815/mt. CFR China remained stable at $845/mt. This is due to limited spot availability of January cargoes, which were driven by strong demand among Korean buyers. According to sources on the market, supply constraints continue in Korea, while additional domestic supplies in China have eased market tensions. Sources said that the restart of downstream plants in Korea and planned maintenance shutdowns at PDHs during the winter season resulted in a lack of spot supply from Korean producers in January.
