In the week ending February 21, Asian propylene was largely unchanged amid low trading activity. Prices in Southeast Asia increased due to a limited supply of spot, which pushed buyers' expectations higher. A trader said that several offers were made on the spot market, at higher prices, due to a number of propylene plants being offline. A market source said that, "given the current market conditions," ongoing price discussions in SE Asia were unaffordable to polypropylene producers. Due to the tight supply, buyers' ideas for buying were increased up to $850-$870/mt. The higher-than-expected traded price of Formosa's tender also worried buyers in SE Asia.
