Asian Propylene prices slightly firmer amid increased Chinese buying interest / Taiwanese buyers are on the sidelines / Price gap between Southeast Asia buyers & sellers

The Asian propylene price was slightly higher in the week ending October 11 due to increased interest in buying from Chinese buyers, a result of a positive sentiment on the key downstream market for polypropylene. A producer said that China is experiencing an increase in purchasing activity, which is mainly due to the bullish sentiment on the polypropylene markets. A number of South Korea's cargoes have been sent to China due to increased interest in purchasing. Sources said that South Korean producers were previously facing an inventory buildup, but the increased demand has helped to ease this pressure.
