Asian Propylene prices continue to fall on news of refinery turnaround completion / CFR China-FOB Korea spread narrows / SE Asian Complex tightens up on unplanned maintenance

Asian propylene was mostly stable or firmer on the 31st of July amid bearish sentiments resulting from possible supply boosting due to an upcoming plant turnaround. CFR China prices are decreasing recently as a Chinese PDH facility is scheduled to return to production this week. This has resulted in a bearish sentiment which continues to exert downwards pressure on the Chinese market. A China-based source stated that "the overall market supply is fairly sufficient". FOB Korea remained unchanged at $850/mt on July 31. However, the CFR China-FOB Korea differential has tightened from $20/mt to $15/mt. Market participants in Southeast Asia expect a tight supply due to unplanned maintenance on steam crackers that use naphtha.
