Propylene CFR China remained unchanged at $870/mt on Jan. 15 amid a tight supply of the product in the region. PDH units are undergoing maintenance in South Korea and YNCC No. According to multiple sources, South Korea's market is experiencing a shortage of 2 naphtha steam crackers. This has led to fewer exports. Source: "In the last week, [South] Korea's market was tight. Parcels were moving from Yeosu up to Ulsan." One producer said that downstream South Korean buyers were still actively looking for propylene. A trader reported that domestic prices in China retreated a little as downstream PP producers cut operating rates due to squeezed margins. This was because of high propylene costs.
