The European spot price of acrylonitrile
was stable during the seven-day period ending March 14, despite low
demand. However, higher feedstock costs have led some suppliers to consider
a pricing passthrough. This raised concerns about margin compression and demand destruction. Import resupply covers a large portion of
domestic consumption. In the last few weeks, US propylene prices have
risen in line due to an increase in naphtha cost. Market
sources stated that the US propylene demand has been low, and that there have
been some price increases in C3 (C3 in US) of up to 24 cents per lb. The US is
a more short-term market. Producer said that it increased by 7
