Propylene CFR China remained unchanged at $840/mt on December 11, despite tightening market conditions and limited availability of spot in Ulsan. According to a downstream acrylonitrile manufacturer, in addition to the closure of the PDH in Ulsan in the near future, another downstream acrylonitrile production facility plans to restart early next week. This is contingent upon securing enough propylene feedstock to operate, said the producer. The producer stated that the "Propylene Supply in Ulsan has been depleted as downstream producers actively purchase on the spot market. This is exerting upward pressure to the prices."
