Asian Propylene: Prices Firmer amid Improved Chinese Market Outlook / Producers offer propylene at higher price / China's Fujian Wanjing will operate PDH and PP factories at 100% capacity in October

On Oct. 9, Asian propylene was firmer due to a slightly more positive outlook for China, despite a lower-than-expected level of demand. According to a producer, propylene producers from South Korea and China increased their offers as a result of rising upstream market price. They leveraged positive market sentiments in China to maintain profits. The fundamentals of the market have not changed as propylene demand and supply remain low. A producer stated that the price hike was not sustainable and would be short-lived. Fujian Wanjing Petrochemical in China, a subsidiary of China Flexible Packaging Group that is a 100%-owned company, said it would continue to operate its 1,000,000 mt/year dehydrogenation facility in Jiangyin, at full capacity, in October.
