Asian Propylene: China CFR falls $15/mt, to a four-month low / Prices under pressure due to a bearish downstream market / South Korea's Lotte will shut down Daesan Cracker for maintenance

Asian propylene dropped $15/mt per day, and by a week to $830/mt CIF China on March 14, under pressure from increasing supplies and a bleak outlook for the downstream markets. According to sources on the market, the latest deal was done at $830/mt of CFR China. CFR China's price has been the lowest since November 28, 2024 when it was $825/mt. A weak local Yuan market also put pressure on the Asian propylene markets. Data showed that the local China propylene prices fell Yuan 50/mt per day in Shandong to Yuan 6,800/mt on 14 March and Yuan 30/mt for Yuan 6,950/mt East China over the same period.
