Asian propylene was stable on October 2 amid little discussion as the Chinese market has been away for a holiday lasting a week from October 1 to 7. A producer reported that producers were finding it difficult to make a deal due to the lack of demand and increased supplies coming from Southeast Asia. In the face of rising feedstock propane costs, propane dehydrogenation plants may reduce their operating rates to maintain margins. A producer stated that this could lead to a reduction in propylene supplies and support prices. The producer said that PDH's operating rates tend to adjust faster to propylene price changes.
