The spot acrylonitrile price was down $10/mt for the week ending June 4, due to lower feedstock costs and a quiet market. US spot acrylonitrile is $1,390/mt, FOB US Gulf. This price is based on Asian and European downward trends, market corroborations and softening upstream prices. The fundamentals of the market were unchanged from last week. The ACN contract price in the domestic market was assessed at 69.25cents/lb, down 2.75cents/lb from last week. This assessment was made using an industry-accepted calculation formula. It took into account the 44.50 cents/lb chemical-grade propylene settlement for May (down 2 cents compared to April) and the $450/mt ammonia contract in May (down $25/mt from April).
