- Prices of domestic plasticizers also fell on the week- PPG CEO: Q2 construction market slowdown expectedUS Oxoalcohol exports remained stable in
the week ending April 27, despite limited arbitrage opportunities. Domestic
contracts and spot levels of plasticizers fell as a result of a new contract
settlement for propylene. During
the period April 21-27, no new price signals were heard for 2-ethylhexanol and
normal butanol exports. According to one
source, arbitrage windows are closed for both products due to high chemical
tanker shipping rates. NBA and 2-EH
domestically were 5 cents/lb less than the previous week, after feedstock
propylene contract settlements fell 11 cents on April 26. A plasticizer indicator for dioctyl Terephthalate at 95-100 Cents/lb
