South Asian PP prices stable amid mixed market outlook / Market activity is slack as December bookings are complete / Market wants more clarity on BIS mandate: Power Purchase Agreement buyers

Prices for South Asian polypropylene were stable in the week ending December 18, and market indicators maintained last week's level. On Dec. 18, the PP raffia/injection was assessed at $950/mt CFR South Asia, remaining unchanged from previous week. The same was true for adjacent grades of polypropylene, such as BOPP and COPOL. Around $950/mt was the tradable indication for PP raffia/injection. This assessment is also lower than the selling indications of $960/mt. The market outlook was mixed. Some sources indicated a weakening of sentiment while others reported a growth in consumption. Concerns have also been raised about the implementation of BIS Guidelines.
