South Asia raffia-grade polypropylene remains unchanged at $979/mt, CFR South Asia September 18, as buyers wait for new offers and an increase in downstream demand. An Indian PP source stated that "we are getting better prices on the domestic market, and it makes little sense to search for cargoes of Chinese origin at this time." If the prices of material in India increase by $30-$40/mt then we will start to consider [China-origin] materials. The source said that "offers from China were more common than those coming out of the Middle East". A PP manufacturer in India said that buyers were waiting to see how low the prices would go before they made any purchases.
