South Asian polypropylene prices increased by $10 from last week to $950/mt CFR South Asia on Jan. 15, due to turnarounds in India, the Middle East, and cost pressure. The PP raffia/injection grades were $950/mt at CFR South Asia on Jan. 15, an increase of $10 over last week. The assessment was based on a comparison of the lowest selling ideas at $950-$960/mt CFR South Asia with the tradable indications. Each of the adjacent grades of PP - IPP film BOPP and COPOL - were assessed $10/mt more than last week. According to market sources, January-March is usually a time of many turnarounds which puts pressures on the supply.
