South Asia raffia-grade polypropylene remains unchanged at $979/mt, CFR South Asia September 18, as buyers wait for new offers and an increase in downstream demand. An Indian PP source stated that "we are getting better prices on the domestic market, so it doesn't make sense to look at China-origin shipments right now." If prices in India rise by $30-$40/mt then we will start to consider [China-origin] materials. The source also added that "offers from China were higher than those coming from the Middle East". A PP producer in India said that buyers were waiting to see how low the prices would go before they made any purchases.
