South Asian PP : Prices remain stable amid producer-buyer dispute / Indian buyers remain uncommitted / Producers anticipate a firming up of demand soon

South Asia raffia-grade polypropylene was $979/mt on Sept. 4. This price was stable for the week amid disputes between buyers and producers. A buyer of Indian PP said that "we still wait for firm demand downstream" and added, "Few industries are not performing well enough to justify further purchases." A PP producer in India said: "It appears buyers are testing the bottom of PP prices and that's why they're waiting to buy". The producer said, "Usually, the pre-festive demands start to show by now, but this time, it has been delayed. However, we believe it will soon begin."
